INITIAL RESPONSE

When an audible alarm or flashing strobe light is present, leave the building:

  • Call 911
  • Call 911
  • Remain calm
  • Alert others in the area of need to relocate or evacuate
  • Listen for instructions from overhead announcement
  • Move out of the immediate area
  • Leave the building through the closest exit
  • Once outside the building move to your assigned meeting place: meet at the north side of the parking lot adjacent to Compass Road
  • Account for all patients, parents, visitors, and staff

 

SECONDARY RESPONSE

& FOLLOW UP

  • Suggested evacuation priority: ambulatory, assisted, then dependent
  • Report any missing person to Glenview Fire Department
  • Wait for instructions from the Glenview Fire Department before re-entry
