INITIAL RESPONSE

When you witness an infant or child being removed from the area by a stranger:

  • Call 911 and manager or charge nurse
  • Call 911 and manager or charge nurse
  • Close off the area
  • Do not allow anyone into the area/ room unless directed by Security/Police
  • Call Halstead building security 847-894-7867

 

SECONDARY RESPONSE

& FOLLOW UP

  • Security/Police conduct search of interior/exterior of facility
  • Security assists Police
  • Complete Safety Event Report
  • Call and update Lurie Hospital Security (312) 227-7777
