INITIAL RESPONSE

When a threat is received by phone:

  • Keep the person talking and obtain information (i.e., where is it, when it will go off, what does it look like, background noise etc.)
  • Call 911
  • Call 911
  • Call your immediate manager
  • Wait for directions

When a threat is received by voicemail or text:

  • Press the EMERG soft key or call 911
  • Press the EMERG soft key or call 911
  • Call your immediate manager
  • Wait for directions

 

SECONDARY RESPONSE

& FOLLOW UP

  • If asked, search the area for suspicious packages, boxes, or containers
  • Report any suspicious boxes, packages, etc. to Security or Police
  • DO NOT TOUCH any suspicious items
  • Complete Safety Event Report
  • Call and update Service Response Center (224)-654-0460
  • Call and update Lurie Hospital Security 312-227-7777
