INITIAL RESPONSE

When a blood/body fluid spill occurs:

  • Isolate the area
  • Contain the spill
  • For a spill use a spill kit to clean up the spill

 

SECONDARY RESPONSE

& FOLLOW UP

  • Dispose of clean up material in appropriate biohazard waste bin
  • Complete Safety Event Report
  • If exposure occurs then follow blood and body fluid exposure policy
