INITIAL RESPONSE

When an audible alarm or flashing strobe light is present, leave the building:

• Remain calm
• Alert others in the area of need to relocate or evacuate
• Listen for instructions from overhead announcement
• Move out of the immediate area
• Leave the suite through the closest exit
• Do not use the elevator
• Once outside the building move to your assigned meeting place: move to the eastern most part of the parking lot
• Account for all patients, parents, visitors, and staff

• Suggested evacuation priority: ambulatory, assisted, then dependent
• Report any missing person to Westchester Fire Department or Building Security
• Wait for instructions from the Westchester Fire Department and/or Hospital Designee before re-entry.

• Alternate site if total facility needs to be evacuated: Westchester
