INITIAL RESPONSE

When relocation or evacuation is necessary the Chicago Fire Department will make an announcement and provide direction.

  • Remain calm
  • Alert others in the area
  • Listen for directions from the Chicago Fire Department, Building Security and/or Hospital Designee
  • Move out of the immediate area as directed
  • Leave the area through the closest exit as directed
  • Do not use the elevator
  • Once outside the building move to your assigned meeting place: Front Exit Chicago Ave, come out of the building turn right (East towards the lake) continue to the corner of Fairbanks and Chicago; Back Exit Alleyway, exit into the alleyway to Superior Ave turn left (east towards the lake) continue to the corner of Fairbanks and Superior

& FOLLOW UP

When in your assigned gathering location

  • Account for all visitors and staff
  • Report any missing person to Chicago Fire Department, Building Security and/or Hospital Designee
  • Wait for instructions from the Chicago Fire Department, Building Security and/or Hospital Designee before re-entry
  • Refer to the American Dental Association Occupant Handbook Emergency Evacuation Plan, Implementation of Plan
  • Call and update Hospital Security (312) 227-7777 from a safe area
