INITIAL RESPONSE

When you see fire, smoke or something burning:

  • R - Remove individuals from danger
  • A - Activate the fire pull station/Call (pull station located by the door to all stairwells)/Press the EMERG soft key or call 911 and then call Security
  • A - Activate the fire pull station (pull station located by the door to all stairwells)/Press the EMERG soft key or call 911 and then call Security
  • C - Close all doors
  • E - Evacuate the area using evacuation criteria below

If you hear the fire alarm, leave the building

If you smell smoke activate the fire pull station/press the EMERG soft key or call 911

If you smell smoke activate the fire pull station/press the EMERG soft key or call 911

 

SECONDARY RESPONSE

To extinguish a small fire, locate the ABC fire extinguisher:

  • P - Pull the pin
  • A - Aim the nozzle at base of fire
  • S - Squeeze the handles together
  • S - Sweep from side to side

ABC fire extinguisher is used for all types of fires

  • ABC fire extinguisher is used for all types of fires
