INITIAL RESPONSE

When you experience an electrical power failure (no lights, no air conditioning, etc.):

  • The building has an emergency generator and emergency lighting will remain on
  • Stairwell locks will open
  • Do not use elevator (elevator will automatically move down to the first floor on the generator)
  • Contact Office of the Building at (312) 751-1091 and then your immediate manager
  • Contact Office of the Building at (312) 751-1091 and then your immediate manager
  • The Office of the Building will address the situation and update you on the power outage

 

SECONDARY RESPONSE

& FOLLOW UP

If it becomes necessary to evacuate the building:

  • Remain calm
  • Alert others in the area
  • Listen for directions from Chicago Fire Department, Building Security and/or Hospital Designee
  • Refer to the EVACUATION procedure
