INITIAL RESPONSE

When you see fire, smoke or something burning:

  • R – Remove individuals from danger
  • A – Activate the fire pull station (pull station located by the door to all stairwells)/Press the EMERG soft key or call 911 911
  • A – Activate the fire pull station (pull station located by the door to all stairwells)/Press the EMERG soft key or call 911
  • C – Close all doors
  • E – Evacuate the area

If you hear the fire alarm, leave the building

If you smell smoke contact Facility Services (312) 227-4098

If after regular Building Engineer hours, call 911

If after regular Building Engineer hours, call 911

& FOLLOW UP

To extinguish a small fire, locate the ABC fire extinguisher:

  • P - Pull the pin
  • A - Aim the nozzle at base of fire
  • S - Squeeze the handles together
  • S - Sweep from side to side

ABC fire extinguisher is used for all types of fires

Even if the fire is extinguished, evacuate to gathering location
