INITIAL RESPONSE

When a person is in distress:

  • Do not leave the person alone
  • Stay calm and listen
  • Offer nonjudgmental support
  • When a person is in distress- say "Code Green". Staff in the area calls building security 312.492.3703. Building security makes a Code Green announcement
  • When a person is in distress- say "Code Green". Staff in the area calls building security 312-492-3703. Building security makes a "Code Green" announcement
  • Upon hearing a Code Green: — Stay in area and wait for instructions from CCAC staff.
  • When a person commits a violent act:

  • Remove others from the area
  • Secure the area
  • Say Code Green. Staff in the area, calls building security 312-492-3703. Building security makes a Code Green announcement
  • Upon hearing a Code Green: — Stay in area and wait for instructions from CCAC staff.

    SECONDARY RESPONSE

    If in immediate danger move to safe space location (see above)

  • After the Incident
  • — Notify Patient Care Ops Manager

    — Call and update Lurie Children’s Security 312-227-7777
