INITIAL RESPONSE

When you see fire, smoke or something burning:

  • R - Remove individuals from danger
  • A - Activate the fire pull station
  • C - Close all doors
  • E - Evacuate the building using evacuation criteria below
  • ------------------------------------------------------------------

For an audible alarm, flashing strobe light present, leave the building.

If you smell smoke, call building security (312) 492-3703

 

SECONDARY RESPONSE

To extinguish a small fire, locate the ABC fire extinguisher, found between exam rooms and staff office.

  • P - Pull the pin
  • A - Aim the nozzle at base of fire
  • S - Squeeze the handles together
  • S - Sweep from side to side

ABC fire extinguisher is used for all types of fires
