INITIAL RESPONSE

When an evacuation is necessary from the building:

  • Remain calm
  • Alert others in the area of need to relocate or evacuate
  • Move out of the immediate area
  • Leave the building through the northwest exit
  • Once outside, turn left. Walk down the Washburne sidewalk. Move to the far end of the parking lot by the purple CCAC sign.
  • Account for all patients, parents, visitors, and staff
  • Wait for direction from CCAC staff

     

    SECONDARY RESPONSE

    • Suggested evacuation priority: ambulatory, assisted, then dependent
    • Report any missing person to CCAC staff
    • Wait for instructions from CCAC staff before re-entry.
    • Do not use the elevator.
    • Call and update Lurie Hospital Security 312-227-7777
