INITIAL RESPONSE

Minor spill, presenting no harm occurs:

  • The person that discovered or caused spill, without any special equipment beyond what they normally use, can clean up a minor spill. These spills should be cleaned up promptly and no further action is needed
  • Isolate the area
  • Obtain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and follow directions
  • Contain the spill/area

Major chemical spill

  • Evacuate the area
  • Press the EMERG soft key or call 77777to report any exposed/injured individuals requiring medical care
  • Press EMERG soft key or call Security 77777 to report any exposed/injured individuals requiring medical care
  • Notify anyone affected by the spill Isolate the area of the spill

 

SECONDARY RESPONSE

& FOLLOW UP

  • Call Environmental Services for disposal of decontaminated material upon completion of clean-up
